Passover

What does the blood symbolize according to Leviticus 17:11 and what promise does Yahshua made to his disciples having known the true meaning of the Passover lamb? John 6: 54-56 What mystery was there in the Passover celebrated in the land of Egypt? First, the lamb could not have any defect (it had to be perfect). Abraham also prophesied in Genesis 22: 2,8 that Yahweh himself would provide the lamb for the sacrifice. Yahweh had asked Abraham to sacrifice his  son, Isaac, whom he adored. This lamb symbolized the lamb that would bear the sins of the world – Yahshua, our Messiah.

Yahshua fulfilled all the prerequisite of the perfect lamb. After their triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the teachers of the law and the chief priests sought a way to stop him immediately. These were the people in charge of certifying that the lamb complied with the requirements established by the Torah.

Luke tells us: “They could not catch him in what he had said there in public. And were amazed by their response, they became silent. ” (Luke 20:26) This silence confirmed that Yahshua was the perfect sacrificial lamb. They tried so hard to accuse Yahshua but could not find anything to accuse him. According to the Mishnah, the only sheep to be sacrificed in the Temple had to be from the pastures in Bethlehem. That is, the sheep could not be from any other place, because Bethlehem was known as the House of Bread.

In the scriptures you will also find that our savior, Yahshua, was born in Bethlehem. Yahshua was our lamb, and through his blood, by taking the sins of the world, and continuing the purification of the sins of the world. (1 Peter 1:19, Isaiah 53: 7) He is the gift that keeps giving. If the blood spread on the sides and tops of the door frames of the houses of the Israelites  that night of Abib made the angel of death passed over them, how much more the blood of Yahshua, who has redeemed us and will continue, redeeming us from the bondage of sin. (Exodus 12: 7 ~ 23)

On Passover we congregate in the temple to celebrate the memorial as well as foot washing. We do this as a symbol (commemoration) of the death of Yahshua (only once a year). We perform the foot washing first. We then take part in the Unleavened Bread (Matzos “for Passover”) and take the fruit of the vine (pure grape juice). This is offered to each individual by one of our leaders and the pastor recites the words of Yahshua (Mark 14: 22 Memorial ~ 24). We have to recognize that this is the body and blood of Yahshua. We then wait until the pastor asks us to eat and drink accordingly. We are given a small piece of unleavened bread (Matzo for Passover) and a small cup with grape juice.
